Lake Ladoga Is in Danger
If you look at the surface of the Earth, you'll see that seas and oceans cover about 70% of it. It is a great amount of water and it seems that there is no need to worry about it. However, only 3% of the Earth's water is fresh drinking water. That is why we should take care of all the rivers, ponds and lakes we have.
Our lake needs care and protection. It's popular with tourists and thousands of them visit Ladoga in summer. And they don't only swim or sunbathe − they also drop litter in the lake and leave a lot of rubbish on the shore. Local government should realize the damage and protect our beautiful lake.
I realize that every day people do a lot of harm to the Ladoga. But I’m sure it is not too late now to improve the situation. We should clean, take out all the litter, place bins on the shore, prohibit cars there and increase fines for littering.
